Gluten digestive enzymes NOW foods
Gluten Digest is a mixture of enzymes that help digest gluten in the gut. Each protein needs its own enzyme, that can decompose it into components, which can be absorbed by the intestines. The gluten proteins are made up of smaller particles of Prolamins and Glutelins.
A special patented mixture of proteases called DPP IV (Dipeptidyl peptidase IV) is a unique enzyme with specific effects on proline connections between the component proteins of gluten.
Gluten Digest combines bacterial and fungal-derived enzymes including endo- and exo-peptidase, which are able to break down gluten proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids to support low-gluten diets. They also help digest eggs, soy and milk proteins. Most similar products contain only one type of enzyme, while Gluten Digest consists of several different enzymes that can metabolize gluten, thus acting faster and more complete as it attacks gluten from multiple directions.
Most grains contain gluten, such as:
- Wheat
- Rye
- Barley
- Oats
- Spelt
- Kamut
Other grains have similar compositions but they do not containt the specific gluten protein. Their proteins consist of Gliadins, Hordenins, Sekalins and Avenins. These are:
- Oats
- Buckwheat
- Millet
The worst form of intolerance to gluten is celiac disease, which completely destroys the intestinal wall and can lead even to death, but we also know more subtle forms of intolerances exsist and they may not be so obvious on the outside.

Take 1 capsule directly before a meal with gluten. Depending on the amount of gluten in the food, you can also double the dosage.
