LifeExtension SAM-e contains only premium, Italian Soloesse® , with slow and targeted release for less negative impact on digestion and for better absorption. The tablets are enterically coated so do not chew or crush them.

SAMe is an abbreviation for s-Adenosyl methionine, which is a substance with a high potential of donating methyl groups. Methyl groups are necessary for many other metabolic reactions, which have a positive effect on mood, depression, anxiety, as well as joints and liver.

SAMe is essentially the amino acid methionine, attached to the ATP molecule and traveling freely in the bloodstream. Due to the amino acid methionine, SAMe also contains sulfur and participates in transulfurization as well as aminopropylation. Most SAMe is formed and consumed in the liver. We know of over 40 methyl group transfers from SAMe. Some of these reactions lead on the one hand to glutathione and on the other to monoamine neurotransmitters (dopamine, serotonin, adrenaline / epinephrine).

How do I use SAM-e 400?

Take 1 capsule daily away from meals. Do not chew or crush the tablet before or during ingestion.

The effective dose in the studies is between 600 and 1,200 mg per day, divided into 2 or 3 even doses.

If you are taking antidepressants, have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder or manic depression, talk to your doctor before taking this product. The product may cause gastrointestinal discomfort.
