Doctors’s Best PepZinGI as a name consist of Pep (for the stomach), Zin (for zinc), and GI (Gastro Intestinal or. digestive system). It is a special compound of zinc and carnosine, also known as zinc L-carnosine or polaprezinc. It contains 23% zinc and 77% carnosine and is approved in Japan as a clinical drug against stomach ulcers.
Zinc is a known antioxidant, which means it protects cells from oxidative stress. It is this characteristic is key to its effect because zinc carnosine binds to free radicals directly in the Stomach.
Clinical studies have shown that zinc carnosine is safe for use in doses of 150mg, without any side effects.
