What is collagen?

Collagen is an important and most common structural protein of the human body. Most of the joint and connective tissues consist of it. It consists of 25 to 35% of total protein in the human body. Collagen consists of individual amino acids in the form of a triple helix. Most of it is in fibrous tissues such as ligaments and skin.
